INTRODUCING THE SON

source: unknown

Author’s note: for a while now, I have been compiling a Scripture According To Shadows. I write pieces that are based on the Holy Bible. My book is not meant to replace the bible, but to highlight some messages I think the bible is trying to communicate. The piece below is a prologue coming late. Apologies.

INTRODUCING THE SON

Narrator, in a deep voice:

In the modern day land of myth and legend

Narrator now raises hands and high-pitches voice dramatically:

Heads duck as lightning sparks fly generously

People’s and monsters’ alike

They scream fear and horror

Like babies on beds of pins and needles

They run and tumble

As mountains crack and ocean waves hit

Chaos graces the day

Narrator now exits

Seeing him descending mildly

You’ll never know he is the cause

Of the apocalypse happening below

This dove gliding smoothly

Has his focus on the humans

Not those spirits and forces of legend

Not the powers unseen and terrifying

But these tumbling fumbling mortals

Parading aimlessly the surface

Of this small round planet

Bloody bloodied ants without a queen

He deals in strange ways this one

He doesn’t wear shiny clothes and blings

That advertise his wealth or power

And doesn’t strut around with stooges or paparazzo

We have searched for him all over

Google, Facebook, Twitter and all

Well, maybe he runs a bitcoin account

He is perfectly stealthy this one

He hides in plain sight

Yet cannot be hidden

He is so plain in intent

Yet holds scary secrets

Average-sized friendly neighbourhood mortal by day

Super-sized scary mysterious force by night

He sees the shades of reality

Samples all states of matter

From the 2-dimensional

Through all physical

Through the psychological

Downright to the spiritual

He breezes through dimensions all at once

And he does all these without the aid of technology

He can manipulate forms of matter

Commanding the weather is the least

Of tricks he’s got in his toolbox

He can bend the minds of men

Without having to select the most suggestible subjects

He can bend even the intelligence of those ancient spirits

Without these victims knowing they are under hypnosis

And he’ll still get home in time for moonlight dinner

All in an 8-hour day job

Fear this one who wrecks critics

Without even packing a ‘matic

He takes down whole schools of philosophy

Without a blast or lead

And when he’s done arguing

He straightens some bent bones

Or raises some corpse

For a cherry on top

He’s just totally lovin’ ’n rockin’

As regular-looking as he is unusual

He rolls with both high and low

Yet not rude or caustic just to prove a point

He blends well into social functions

As well as solitary places and forests

And though he soars in abstracts thoughts

He is also downright realistic

And even dabbles into politics

Not like those monk-y philosophers

Who constantly live in the heavens

Unminding the nation is at brink of collapse

Or those philosophers with their own agendas

Who trade their worth in sincerity

For a glass of power and vodka

Who’d think the foundation of this man’s life

Was just love for humanity

Catered for the battered, tattered and shattered

Empathic with the sick, weak and bleak

Lightened the blackened, lacking and darkened

And in that same spirit with which he comforts

He deals with the darkness that rules souls and nations

And for a coup de gras

He crosses over the threshold of humanity

Through dying and takes on the enemy territory

Totally razing the zone

To the point of no comeback for the enemy

He blends in with the citizens of hades

Breaks through the rocky strongholds of Belial

Walks over the raging waters of the Leviathan

Takes the winds out and choking the Lucifer

To carry out a fatality strike on the Satan with the flaming sword

He now carts away the sacred treasures

It is like a scene out of an epic

He now leaves gehenna

Coming back to earth to distribute gifts

To those who all their lives

Have been wasting and impoverished

Oh, he still walks around today alright

Having achieved the status of a true IMMORTAL

Hiding in plain sight

Keeping it real all the way

No, not in the steeples of the cathedrals

Or the big offering boxes at sermons

He doesn’t bathe with the Holy Water

Or rub Anointing Oil on his skin

He is out and in everywhere…

What do we know

I assure you, I am not always standing close to the edge, four floors above the ground, sober and contemplative!!!

I assure you, I am not always standing close to the edge, four floors above the ground, sober and contemplative!!!

The mother carrying the pregnancy knows
Through labour’s pains before baby shows
Now the boy glows and grows
Wherever he wants he goes

Like he’s waltzed into earth all on his own

The father who protected him knows
Through childhood’s wells and woes
As the teen mellows and bellows
However he wants he flows

Like he’s become a free human all on his own

We have searched highs and lows
Experienced life’s tops and belows
And all the answer to our throes
We think philosophy bestows

Like we’ve become wisest beings all on our own

BACKGROUND: What really does it mean to be free and independent?
The mother knows there is no way the baby could have survived without a major input from her. The father who tried to give the child as meaningful a childhood as he could has influenced that “independent” adult we see.
To look at it more closely, without an external input, I am not sure we would still be here. We seem to do well on our own, only as well as a foetus could manage without the mother. We seem capable of making messes all by ourselves. Yet, we seem forever intent on more independence, or at least the idea of being totally independent.
Okay, enough sober thought. We do have happy moments in the midst of our changing worlds and shifting tides.
Some wine and honeyed milk, please!!!

Of Mysteries

Bullet the blue sky

amazing grace

Okay, go on now
Amaze me more
Do your worst
You speak as though you were commanding
Well you got my attention now
I am the enchanted writer myself
Yet you speak as if to lead me captive
Chained to the very things you say
So have you met him
You have sat at table with him
You spent last night on his bed
Did you grow up in his vineyard
Listening to him whilst sitting on his thigh
You speak with very plain terms
Yet the things you say are mysteries
You speak impossibly simple things
That could undo the philosopher’s mind
How can you stand there and talk
Like you are no longer a mere human
How can you stand there and talk
Making me feel dumber than a mere human
How can you speak so coolly
Like it’s not a big deal
Well, you got my attention
Don’t lose me now
At least let me understand
This… this thing… thing you are trying to say
You got me destroyed by all these
My brains are out scattered
Into many different parts
Trying to piece together these things
How can you just stand there
Unceremoniously
And speak these things about God

As if it’s not a big deal*#!

The Scientific Confusion: a tottering thought

Let’s throw out the pots into the gutter
Though a little cooking is good for the soul
A little confusion brimming in the primordial soup
Bubbles of ethanol rising from the bottom of the pot
And now all the great sages of the earth are carousing
But eh, who can judge them
When they are stuffed with monkey soup
I hope they managed to eat it standing erect
And within a space of a few million years
Many even forgetting to shave whilst at it
Will they successfully prove evolution
By reverse-evolving
Why the obsession with this cookbook
Will seeing the recipe for the primordial soup
Bring back the flavour to this planet-kitchen
Maybe they are not really looking for answers
To the state of man and the kitchen
They just want them bubbles!
Them blissful bubbles of ethanol
And they’ll feel fulfilled by the rush
Or stagger happily under the weight of titles
Professors and Philosophers of them bubbles.
The kitchen lies in decrepitude meanwhile!

My Dilemma

longest road

I was born into the world not too long ago;
So I have not gathered enough experience.
This will be someone’s claim.

A woman indulges in harmful medications/drugs.
She gives birth to a deformed baby.
The baby looks up to the sky to blame the Good Creator.

A baby grows up naïve in a dark world,
Abused by the “wise” grown-ups and suffers.
The child looks up in judgment at the Gentle One

A recently divorced, drunk truck-driver
Knocks over a little child on the day before his 5th birthday.
The parents cry out at the Fatherly One.

The young adolescent hanging out at every night rave with peers
Gets shot at whilst doing dope.
The parents barely restrain their anger at the Innocent One.

The older adolescent would be anywhere but facing the future;
And when soon faced with a life of mortgages and lack,
Looks up and blames the Generous Giver.

The young bride soon becomes a young widow
At the hands of cancer.
She looks up in sorrow at the Loving One.

The middle-aged couple who just got duped and abandoned
By a run-away only son
Look up in query at the Patient Father.

The old man just lost his life-long mate
To a brutal rape by a ‘psychopath’.
He painfully demands of the Just One.

A “wise” philosopher, product of this damaged system
With its warped ways of reasoning which brought it to this cursed shore,
Considers all these and shakes his head at the “All-wise Almighty One”.

Now we think we know it all and are qualified to call out just any “culprit” anyhow.
After all, it’s better than not having an answer.
Or, maybe we just want someone to pour out our frustrations on.

We are very wise now, having the use of philosophy and logic (P&L)
Which, though seems sensible and practicable over time,
Has not changed some easily seen flaws of human nature.

Is it possible that these rules and thinking methods
Cannot solve some riddles, e.g., the unseen world which is nonetheless existing;
So, we should be more careful before sticking out our lives for the P&L originating from US.

Please, I am not out against P&L.
I only want those addressing life’s issues
To look beyond themselves (reasoning and emotion) and up.

To the One who still watches closely,
Even after making us responsible for what happens on earth;
Though He doesn’t interfere at every opportunity.

To the One who was so concerned for us
That he sacrificed what mattered most to him
Just to bring some real meaning and sanity into our existence.

To the One who knows our deadly human nature
Yet offered hope, EXPECTING us to take it freely,
While we turn our backs on him for SO MANY reasons.

Yet a friend of mine has said:
We believe in God.
But, does God believe in us?

P.S.: So, let this innocent mind
Uncorrupted by this crazy cosmos
Speak with wisdom as from above.
