THE MAGI-CIANS 2: SHOWDOWN

Trick or treat

Dance to the beat

Coz we got you neat

Oh you sly Herod got the heat

And now totally unsettled on your seat

(source: unknown)

_____________________________________________

Sat on your throne feeling neat

Any wagging tongues your guards beat

You called the shots and dictated the beat

You get angry and the innocent feel the heat

You give the orders and it all becomes a bloody treat

Well now feel my beat

I’m gonna give it to you neat

I turn on my words like the heat

From my kitchen comes a nuclear treat

Coz I’m a righteous gangster from heaven’s seat

All we got in life are a treat

Handed to us all in our seat

We can’t control life’s every beat

Not to speak of our every heart’s beat

Who survives when life brings on the white heat

Whether we work under the heat

Or play games each lounging on his seat

Fate is a cunning illness none can fully treat

Though we alter some events at life’s complex treat

There’s much in this party that doesn’t dance to all our beat

So whilst on your sadistic seat

Feeling like a god so fly and neat

The magicians heard a different beat

And did not stagger at the sight of your heat

But rocked side to side at the Chef-God’s treat

And now Herod feel the heat under your seat

As you just got beat at your own grand treat

Coz the Chef-God’s heat cooked you neat

Giving you a treat to his version of heat

Time to feel my beat crash your seat

Matthew 2:1-13 contains a summary of how Herod’s attempt at killing God’s son was totally foiled.

Narrator: “Hollup magi, I’m coming. Herod’s goose is cooked! Let’s go see those gods of the 21st century feeling like they own the universe and all of existence. We need to remind them they didn’t conceive, incubate and give birth to themselves. Now that they all grown up and making a few bucks and academic degrees, they be barking up and down the streets with doggy philosophies and belching with goaty pride!”

BREATHE

Introspective

It’s nice to sing that new beat
Not just when drunk on milk and beef
Or high on smoke from that roasting rabbit
Meat so deliciously lean and stiff
As we gather round the heat
All of us dancing on the cliff
Thankful that tonight life is neat
And we are spared the gliff
Spared the terror and hit
That make us tremble like a leaf
Tearing us bit by bit
Ain’t this life’s spiff
Biting us in the butt even on retreat
Never leaving like our very own reef
Driving nails into the sores of our feet
Darkening the core of all our belief
Setting up pins for us on our seat
So nauseating is this life’s whiff
Monsters parade this life’s gloomy street
Even when silent we hear them sniff
Causing terrors that make our hearts grit
These life’s fairy-demons meet us with a biff
They greet our joys with a slit
And spare us no tiff
Leaving us a ghastly bloody treat
So when we get some relief
We are thankful for the feast
Giving the Creator glory without miff
And smiling as we lie tonight each on his bedsheet

Resting In Peace!

Happy lonely thoughts whilst lounging on the rooftop

Sky Lion

It is in the skies

The ears filled with lies
With tears flooding the eyes
The breath filled with sighs
Darkness hits in the skies

Into men’s souls truth cries
Free yourselves from these ties
While they wander like flies
Stranded up in the skies

A narrow road none plies
I encounter with shaking thighs
Which scales lows and highs
Like birds in the skies

Still the Dark One defies
Locking his captives in sties
But life lights my eyes
As I cruise the skies

A Silly Conflict Of Desires

To the Lyricist: a song.

I am the seeking one

I see life as split into two
But notice sneaky shades of grey too

I sit on the palm tree
The clock strikes three
Jesus I just need to see

I spot him by the door
Right on the dot of four
Through the entrance people pour
To secure a place near him on the floor

He says nothing until five
As some latecomers arrive
Now the place is like a beehive
I make sure to mind my own drive
Wondering what others hope to derive

Crowds hear as he speaks
Of wisdom his mouth reeks
To the wrecked he brings a sure fix
Without him Earth could soon be in a fix
Darn! I am hungry and it is just six
And I had waited for this for weeks

It chimes seven
And I am so riven
My hunger is a given
But I am also driven
To seek Christ’s truths that enliven
Setting me free from death’s oven
Argh! But please be done before eleven

What Then (Dark)

Gloom

Gloom (Photo credit: Owen Davis96)

What do I then do?

If my panic starts anew
If my sky’s not blue
If my troubles now brew
If my gloom does continue

If my darkness’s like dew
If my pains do ensue
If my lover says “eww!”
If my life’s like goo

If my sweetness’s like poo
If my happiness is overdue
If my failure’s like shoe
If my fears come true

What can I then do
If my doubts do subdue
If my sin’s like glue
If my Creator says “shoo!”
