This is all I am taking with me
Memories of euphoria fade faster than the actual moments
Songs of wondrous events soon become bland cackles
Sometimes my strengths don’t weigh a gram
Sometimes my word prowess can’t buy anyone a smile
This is all I am taking with me
Sun MAY rise tomorrow in this part of the world
I MAY find another soul to share thoughts with
I MAY enjoy another wonder tonight
This ‘high’ moment of writing MAY linger
None MAY remain with me
Sift me through good and bad times
No part of me remains there
No memories or scars
I just am, with all I am
All I have is this
I only change within
I only change from within
A tear, a hum, a hope, and a faith
Are all I am taking with me
And all that’s essential to my being
You…
Beautiful!
Thank you very much, Sir Julien! Glad you liked it.
Simply beautiful Doc, I have tears of joy. You really do understand this very moment, you’ve captured eternity with a blessed heart. Memories will fade but the love anchors this ever present moment between you and me.
Thanks for sharing a lovely moment, poetry is powerful that way, and so delicately floral. (Fantastic photo) Friendship is an awesome high, I can totally relate to that as the best feeling in the world. Wow what an awesome share, I love it! ♥
Woah!!!!!!!! Lollllllllll!!!! It’d appear the Maddey is higher than even I was. Hehehehehe. Yes, I agree with you to a good degree. Thanks for your visit, Maddey.
Hahaha, Doc we’re so high on life, we don’t even need a parachute while dreaming on rooftops. 😀
See you in the stars spaceman poet dude. ☼
Lollll!!!!! Please, keep a chute. Your high could expire before you hit the stars’ landing ground. You know how life’s surprises make us forget we were feeling high mere moments before life’s hard knock?!
Thanks, Madddey. Be cool.
your words always make me smile Doc! And I think you were ‘high’ in that picture! lol great shot, to the photographer!!! really shows us the real you! 🙂
Oh my!!!! Glad you smiled. I think I am exhausting my happy ink. I am this close to writing a cynical or dark piece, depending on how the inspiration comes. Ha! Indeed! @the shot. I do love that shot. Makes me smile every time. Thanks for your visit, Shardy.
NOooookeepgoing!!! 🙂 Happy Ink!!!
Heheheheheh!!! Not sure I can for long.
Doc has a point, a poet’s ink is very dear… it’s made of blood, sweat & tears. Personally I think Doc’s pen is filled with Vodka! 🙄 ROFL 😯
Oh my! Right though you are, I think, Maddey, that the poet’s ink could permittedly be an ecclectic mix of all sorts. But your closing remarks were just …*@#+#*
I can’t bear to laugh hard.
I tend to agree! lol
hey doc, write something about your friend, in the pic…he has the best smile ever! 🙂 (daring you to keep going happyink) hehehe
Quite like Shard to agree.
Ha! Let’s just wait and see what falls out the cave! Hehehehehe!
oh please….pull something out of your…..cave! lmao
Lollll.
I pulled out a very regular-looking rabbit.
I have to say Doc, it is always a pleasure to hear your voice. There is always something worth hearing here. Let’s dance through a life of “may”‘s and “maybe”‘s, but if so, let’s dance for all it’s worth.
The Trent is alive!!!!!! How have you been? Yes, indeed, let’s dance in-between the uncertainties that remind us of how the future is somewhat always beyond our reach, THOUGH we may do well to PLAN -well or badly -for the future.
Yup, I’m alive, and hopefully present and reading in near future. Let’s dance. Let’s plan. Let’s do our best.
Is that really a picture of you by the way?
Hehehe! Really good to know. Hopefully so indeed.
I am afraid I was indeed the fella on the left.
You’re a good looking fella Doc. That fits perfectly.
I see. Insanity fits perfectly, eh!
Thanks for the compliment, Trent.
Love this! You know me though…ill be waiting for that cynical and dark piece lol
Hahaha! Hello K. Jo.
Believe me -I also can’t wait to let it out.
Thanks much for your visit, Jo.
Such a beautiful poem. And great pic, BTW. 🙂
Thank you very much for your visit, Kayyy!
Glad you liked it.
